Our services do not constitute legal, financial, tax, accounting, investment, medical, clinical or other regulated professional advice.
Healthcare consultancy does not constitute clinical advice and SCS does not act as your employer, legal representative or trade union representative.
Where your circumstances require advice from a regulated professional, you remain responsible for obtaining that advice.
3. Booking and Confirmation
Consultations may be booked through our online booking system or another booking method expressly offered by SCS.
Your appointment is confirmed when you receive a booking confirmation and any required payment has been successfully received.
You are responsible for checking that the:
-
Consultation type

Time
-
Contact details
-
Time zone, where relevant
shown in your confirmation are correct.
Please contact us promptly if you identify an error.
4. Fees and Payment
The applicable consultation fee will be displayed before you complete your booking.
Unless expressly agreed otherwise, payment is required in advance.
Where payment is not successfully completed, SCS may decline or cancel the booking.
Any applicable taxes or other mandatory charges will be displayed where required.
5. Your Statutory Cancellation Rights
If you are an eligible UK consumer booking a consultation online or otherwise at a distance, you may have a statutory right to cancel the service contract within 14 days from the day after the contract is entered into.
If you request that your consultation takes place during this statutory cancellation period, different rules may apply.
Where you expressly request that SCS begins providing the service during the cancellation period and subsequently cancel after performance has begun, you may be required to pay a proportionate amount for services already provided where permitted by law.
Where a service has been fully performed during the cancellation period following the necessary request and acknowledgement, the statutory cancellation right may be lost.
Nothing in our standard booking cancellation policy below overrides statutory cancellation rights that apply to you.
6. Standard Cancellation and Rescheduling Policy
Subject to any statutory rights that apply:
48 Hours or More Before Your Consultation
You may:
-
Cancel your consultation and request a refund; or
-
Reschedule your consultation.
Between 24 and 48 Hours Before Your Consultation
You may request one complimentary reschedule.
Cancellations during this period will generally not qualify for a refund, subject to applicable consumer rights.
Less Than 24 Hours Before Your Consultation
Bookings cancelled less than 24 hours before the scheduled start time will generally be non-refundable.
Rescheduling within this period is not guaranteed and will be considered at SCS's discretion where appropriate, subject to applicable law.
No-Shows
If you do not attend your consultation and have not provided prior notice, your booking will generally be treated as a no-show and non-refundable, subject to applicable consumer rights.
Cancellation charges and retained payments must remain fair and proportionate under UK consumer law; unfair or excessive cancellation terms may not be enforceable.
7. Late Arrival
Please attend your consultation at the scheduled time.
If you arrive late, we will make reasonable efforts to provide the consultation during the remaining scheduled time. However, the appointment may still end at its original scheduled finish time.
Late arrival does not automatically entitle you to additional time, a refund or a replacement appointment.
8. Cancellations or Changes by SCS
Occasionally, SCS may need to cancel or reschedule an appointment because of illness, technical problems or other unforeseen circumstances.
Where this occurs, we will notify you as soon as reasonably possible and offer:
-
A suitable alternative appointment; or
-
A refund of the consultation fee where an alternative appointment is not suitable or appropriate.
SCS will not charge you a cancellation fee where we cancel the appointment.
9. Your Responsibilities
To help us make appropriate use of your consultation time, you agree to:
-
Provide accurate and relevant information.
-
Complete any requested pre-consultation information where reasonably required.
-
Attend at the scheduled time.
-
Ensure that your contact information is correct.
-
For online appointments, have a suitable internet connection, compatible device and reasonably private environment.
-
Treat SCS representatives professionally and respectfully.
-
Not record, reproduce, publish, livestream or distribute the consultation without our prior written permission.
You remain responsible for decisions and actions you take following the consultation.
10. Confidentiality
SCS will treat information shared during consultations as confidential and handle personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
Information may be disclosed where:
-
You have given permission for us to do so.
-
Disclosure is required by law or a lawful authority.
-
Disclosure is reasonably necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal rights.
-
Another lawful basis for disclosure applies.
Where possible and appropriate, we will limit disclosure to what is reasonably necessary.
11. Healthcare and HR Discussions
Healthcare career consultations may involve discussion of workplace situations, interviews, management matters or HR meetings.
Please avoid unnecessarily providing confidential patient information, identifiable patient records, passwords, access credentials or other information that you are not authorised to disclose.
SCS provides preparation and guidance in relation to HR meetings and workplace situations. We do not act as your employer, solicitor, trade union representative or formal workplace representative.
12. Materials Provided During Consultations
Any original SCS worksheets, guides, templates, tools or other materials supplied during or following a consultation remain the intellectual property of SCS unless expressly stated otherwise.
They are provided for your personal or internal business use and must not be copied, redistributed, resold or commercially exploited without prior written permission.
Our Digital Product Terms and Terms & Conditions contain further information about intellectual property and permitted use.
13. No Guarantee of Results
SCS will provide the booked consultancy service with reasonable care and skill.
However, we cannot guarantee:
-
Employment or promotion.
-
A particular interview outcome.
-
A particular HR or workplace outcome.
-
Business growth or profitability.
-
Funding or investment.
-
Any other specific professional or commercial result.
Outcomes depend on circumstances and decisions outside SCS's reasonable control.
14. Liability and Consumer Rights
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful or restricts statutory consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded.
SCS is not responsible for losses arising solely from decisions made independently by a client where SCS has provided its services with reasonable care and skill.
We will not attempt through these terms to exclude responsibility that applicable law does not permit us to exclude.
15. Governing Law and Disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
If you are a consumer outside England and Wales, you may also benefit from mandatory protections provided by the laws applicable in your country or place of residence.
Nothing in these terms is intended to restrict any jurisdictional or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
If you have a concern regarding a consultation, we encourage you to contact SCS first so that we can attempt to resolve the matter directly.
